Police arrest a man they say left his mother lying in a bed covered in urine and feces.
Parkersburg police detectives arrested Steven Alan Nicolson Monday for misdemeanor neglect of an incapacitated adult.
According to a criminal complaint, Nicolson's mother, 88-year-old Ruth Nicolson, was living with him on Spring Street in August of this year.
Police say they found Ruth Nicolson lying in a bed covered in urine and feces.
She also appeared to be suffering from malnutrition.
Ruth Nicolson is still in the hospital with her condition improved
and non-life threatening.
Steven Nicolson was arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court.
He posted a $1,000 personal recognizance bond and was released.
