Over a century's worth of unique funeral artifacts right here in Marietta. Now the museum is getting national recognition for bringing a "darker side" to Marietta.
It's The Peoples Mortuary Museum and it's listed under C-N-N's destinations with a dark side. Ohio is listed along side Scotland, New Orleans, and New York.
It's not Halloween related but it is a collection of authentic artifacts from local funeral homes. The museum displays caskets, hearses, and clothing depicting the funeral process throughout the past hundred years.
It depicts the way funerals have changed through the past hundred years.
