Recognizing companies with outstanding safety records at the most important event of the year for the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce.
More than 100 awards were given out at the Safety Awards Luncheon and Chamber President Charlotte Keim says this is where they congratulate companies keeping employees safe.
Everything from the school system to hospitals to manufacturing to construction were represented there Wednesday.
"These are our local companies and the Safety Council brings them safety information and education so that all employees in the Mid-Ohio Valley whose companies participate in Safety Council know more about keeping your workers safe," Keim says.
She adds that it's very important they're able to send them home every night to their families.
The Safety Council is a way for companies to be better prepared to provide a safe work environment.
