Mineral Wells Man Arrested On Theft & Drug Charges

Wood County deputies responded to a tractor stuck in a ditch, and say they stopped a theft in progress.
It all happened in Rockport, along Lee Creek Road.
Wood County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the scene of the tractor which was stuck in a ditch early Thursday morning.
That's where that found 32-year-old Jamie Ray Thompson of Mineral Wells.
He was standing by the vehicle.
Deputies soon found that the tractor had been stolen and that Thompson was in possession of oxycodone, which had also been stolen.
In running a background check, it was discovered that Thompson is a fugitive from justice out of Washington County for violating his probation for carrying a concealed weapon & contempt of court.
Thompson is now being held at the Wood County Holding Center on several charges, including grand larceny & possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver.
He will face extradition proceedings on the fugitive charge.
