They've spent a century helping shape the careers of many outstanding people and on Saturday they invited the community to join them in celebrating.

Mountain State College's 125th Anniversary party took place on its Spring Street campus.

Matt Enik's band performed, refreshments were served, there was a tour of the facility and much more.

“To the community, we've always had a special relationship with them, so we just wanted to kind of invite them to come in, look at the new updates, see what we've done (and) hopefully be able to reach the past graduates of the college so they can come back and see and always potentially looking for new (students),” says Karen Pierce, community resource coordinator and admissions officer.

The school offers a variety of different programs -- medical, business, accounting and administrative.

People attending the anniversary celebration had the chance to hear about the changes the school has made.
