Ohio River in Jackson County, West Virginia

Marietta Middle School students in National Junior Honors Society adopt two miles of the Marietta rail trail.

The nearly 20 students have now dedicated a few hours a month to help maintain the rail trail.

Recently, the City of Marietta has been having trouble finding resources and funding for taking care of the trail. Now this is the second program to step up and take on two miles of the trail.

Students have already helped fix a fence and clean it, removed debris from the trail and help take out a dead tree and replace it.

The Rowing Cycling Club has a section as well.
