Local people needing to travel have a new and affordable bus service now at their disposal.
Barons Bus Lines opened its Parkersburg ticket office earlier this fall at Noah's Arc Thrift Shop on Dudley Avenue.
The Cleveland-based company is offering cheap bus fares to people traveling around the Mid-Ohio Valley and across the Continental U.S.
The busses feature reclining seating and are also handicap-friendly.
"The quality of bus service that's available to Parkersburg residents is really first class," says John Goebel, Vice-President of Barons Bus Lines. "You have power outlets, Wi-Fi, you have tv's on board which will soon start to show movies. The buses are brand new and there's discounts, very discounted tickets."
Goebel says a $10 ticket to Charleston is among the discounted tickets.
He adds that the cheap fares are partly made possible by the company using just one bus per route.
