Internet at the library is provided through the state Office of Technology.

The state monitors what people search and download at public library computers.

If they see anything illegal, like child pornography downloads, they immediately call the police.

Library Director Brian Raitz says they have their own policies in place as well to protect against any illegal downloads.

"Under the Children's Internet Protection Act they have a filter on there, but of course in this situation as it shows the filters don't always work. We have policies in place and if we see any illegal activities in there we stop it and prevent people from coming back in and using the internet here," says Raitz.

Raitz adds they are working with police, but have to stay within the law and protect patron's privacy unless information is subpoenaed.
