WVU-P is getting some much needed parking for the downtown building.

WVU-P was granted the downtown Parkersburg facility on Market Street back in 2008.

So far, the building holds a culinary class with about 11 students.

The school hopes to expand that class with more students and add even more classes. The parking will provide easier access for students to get to classes.

"The parking has always been a concern since we were granted the building in 2008. That was one of the major questions on everyone's mind was where is everyone going to park. It's been an ongoing issue that we wanted to resolve, especially now that we have the culinary program and students are going to start here this month," says WVU-P Director of Marketing and Communications, Katie Wooten.

The property behind WVU-P Downtown (The W.T. Grant building) will be developed into the new parking lot. The Erickson Foundation deeded both the building and the new lots.
