At about 2:30 Tuesday afternoon Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force agents along with local law enforcement conducted surveillance in Williamstown.

Agents saw Jessica Handshumacher in a car. She's a wanted fugitive out of Washington County and a target of U.S. Marshals.

Agents followed the car to Williamstown where Handshumacher parked the car with her husband in the passenger seat.
A K-9 positively identified drugs in the vehicle. Agents found heroin and more than $1,600 in cash in the car.

Police arrested both Jessica and Alex Handshumacher for possession with the intent to deliver heroin.

Jessica Handshumacher is also charged with being a fugitive from justice.

Both face 1-15 years in prison for the heroin charges. Jessica is awaiting extradition to Ohio for her other charge.

Both are in the Wood County Holding Facility waiting to be arraigned.
