Police Searching for Suspect in Wallet Theft

The Marietta Police Department needs your help identifying a suspect in a wallet theft.

According to Marietta Police Captain Jeff Waite, Amanda Hamrick reported her wallet was stolen from her purse.

It happened September 25 between 7 and 7:23 p.m. at the Dollar General on Gross Street, where Hamrick works.

Hamrick told police her purse had been in the office area.

Video surveillance shows a man leaving the store.

The suspect is described as white, 20 to 25 years old, medium build, short dark hair, wearing blue jeans, a ball cap and rubber boots.

He also has a tattoo of a star on his left neck area.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Marietta Police Department at 740-373-4141.
