UPDATE 2/7/2014 12:05 PM

A man admits to scamming customers out of thousands of dollars.

Doug Snider, Sr. pleads guilty to theft.

Prosecutors say the Little Hocking man and Paula McCarty promised tree trimming services last spring, but never fulfilled the duty.

They say the pair stole $1,000 from a neighbor and $500 from another last spring.

On Friday, Washington County deputies arrested Doug Snider Sr. on an outstanding warrant for OVI and contempt of court. He's also a suspect in a tree trimming scam that's cost victims thousands of dollars.

A Little Hocking woman filed a report Thursday, that in mid-April she paid someone $1,000 to remove five trees from her Oak Drive property. She says that person has not completed the work or refunded her money.

This woman's neighbor paid the same person $500 for work that has not been done.

Chief Deputy Mark Warden says Snider is a suspect in this case. He was arrested at his girlfriend's Oak Drive home.

If you've fallen victim to this scam call the Washington County Sheriff's Office at 740-376-7070.
