UPDATE: Names Released In Fatal Crash

The Ritchie County Sheriff's Office has released the name of the woman killed in a crash Saturday morning.

Deputies say Cheryl Horner and her 14 year old daughter were killed in the crash. They are from Pennsboro. The daughter's name isn't being released because she is a juvenile.

The two were pronounced dead on scene.

The crash happened on Route 50 in Ellenboro near Simonton Windows.

Deputies say a water truck driven by Caitlin Hines ran through a stop sign hitting Horner's truck.

The crash is still under investigation.

The Ritchie County Sheriff's Office confirms two people were killed in a crash Saturday morning on Route 50 near Ellenboro.

Deputies say a mother and her 14 year old daughter were killed in the crash. Their names are not being released at this time, but deputies say they're from Pennsboro.

They were driving on route 50 westbound near Simonton Windows when a water tuck ran a stop sign and hit them. Deputies say the water truck is owned by JB Oil and Gas.

The mother and daughter were pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the truck was taken to Camden Clark Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies say after the crash, the water truck was spinning and hit another truck carrying crude oil and gas. There was some leakage from fuel tanks that has since been cleaned up.

Charges are pending and the accident is still under investigation.

The Harrisville Fire Department, Ellenboro and Pennsboro Volunteer Fire Departments responded. The West Virginia State Police crash reconstruction team were also on scene.

The westbound lanes of U.S. 50 near Ellenboro are blocked off due to a possible fatal crash Saturday morning.

Up to three cars were involved in the crash.

It happened shortly before 8am near the exit at Simonton Windows.

The Ritchie County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash at this time.
