The Red Cross is recognizing a special group of people who helped them out during the year.
Eleven people were named members of the Clara Barton Society at the Mid-Ohio Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross' board meeting Tuesday afternoon.
The society is for individuals who donate $1,000 or more each year to the Red Cross.
Those who showed up received a certificate and pin for their generous contributions.
"We depend on our community to help us out because we're out there are fires and single family fires, floodings, in heat, hot and cold weather," says Sharon Callow, Executive Director of the Mid-Ohio Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross. "So we have to have help. It's essential that the community helps us. As well as us giving back and helping those in need."
The Clara Barton Society, honoring those who donate, was started in 2003.
