People who drive in the area of Ohio and Emerson Avenues are asked to take a different route Wednesday.

The Parkersburg Utility Board says crews are repairing the street around a main line water valve at the intersection of Ohio and Emerson Avenues at the Memorial Bridge approach.

The work will start around 4:00 am Wednesday and is expected to continue until complete.

Ohio Avenue will have the center lane closed from just above McDonalds and the right hand lane will be limited to right turn only onto the bridge. Only the left hand lane will be available for through traffic.

The middle lane of Emerson Avenue for turning left onto Ohio Avenue will be closed. This lane closure will not allow large trucks to make the left hand turn onto Ohio Avenue.

For detour, trucks may use the right lane of Emerson Avenue onto the bridge approach and turn left onto Garfield Avenue before the toll booth.

The Parkersburg Utility Board asks that drivers find alternative routes to avoid delays.
