The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration wants to make sure your child's car seat is safe to ride in while traveling.
It's all part of Child Passenger Safety Week.
Safe Kids River Cities in Marietta held a car seat inspection Saturday morning at Matheny Factory Outlet.
Parents took their cars to the garage to make sure their car seat is safe to use.
Inspectors say there are several things to look for to make sure a car seat safely fits a child.
Check for age limits, make sure it's properly installed and tightly strapped in and that your child uses it the right way.
"You know, car crashes are the number one accidental death in children and so we're just out here trying to make kids safe and hopefully save a life," says Safe Kids River Cities Coordinator, Jonni Tucker.
Parents received a new car seat if theirs expired.
Each year, four out of five car seats are used incorrectly.
