UPDATE 1/2/2014 4:35 PM

The driver of a semi-truck and his passenger are safe after authorities say the truck hit a telephone pole and jackknifed into the side of a garage.

Lowell-Adams fire chief Joshua Harris says the driver was traveling down State Route 530 in Lowell towards Walnut Street when he lost control.
