A fire sprinkler system malfunction doused parts of the Kroger on Seventh Street in Parkersburg, forcing the store to close.
At about 4 p.m. Tuesday the sprinklers went off, drenching the office, accounting room, and the front part of the store
Shoppers were evacuated as a precautionary measure.
The Parkersburg Fire Department responded to shut off the sprinkler system.
A crew is working to clean up the water damage, and a store official told WTAP News that the store hope to re-open 7:00AM on Wednesday.
Anyone needing to pick up a prescription can pick it up at the southside Kroger until further notice.
