A truck is stolen from Mineral Wells, then set on fire and abandoned.

The Wood County Sheriff's Office says just after 4 this morning a resident on Missouri Run Road in South Parkersburg called to report a truck near his home was on fire.

There was no one near the truck when firefighters arrived.

They say the truck - owned by Harold E. Burdette - was reported stolen from his son's residence on Chesterville Road in Mineral Wells at about 12:30 last night.

The sheriff's office says the truck was unlocked and the keys were left in the ignition.

Burdette's son, Harold "Michael" Burdette, was on his couch when he heard the truck door shut and the engine start.

No one was injured as a result of the fire.

There are no suspects at this point.

The sheriff's office continues to investigate the incident.
