Four local charities competed for $10,000 towards their organization.
And the lucky winner of the Peoples Bank $10K Charity was announced Saturday morning.
The Humane Society of Parkersburg was awarded the money in front of a large crowd at the grand opening of the new Peoples Bank in Vienna.
From January to March people had the chance to log online or stop in to any Wood County Peoples Bank branch to vote for their favorite charity.
Camden Clark Foundation Cancer Center, Friendship Kitchen and the Salvation Army of Parkersburg were the other three charities competing as finalists.
Humane Society of Parkersburg Executive Director, MaryAnn Hollis says, "Winning this $10,000 is just incredible for us. The money will go to our lost cost spay and neuter clinic, getting that program up and running, to have this type of support from the community to win a contest that you're being voted for is phenomenal us."
The Salvation Army, Camden Clark Foundation Cancer Center and Friendship Kitchen were each given a $1,000 check towards their organization.
