Saturday marked the grand opening of the Winter Market in Parkersburg.
The event began Saturday morning on Ann Street near Point Park.
Residents were treated to several demonstrations from apple butter to kettle corn.
Several local vendors were in attendance selling plants, jewelry, and artwork.
Folks also got to see a sneak peak of the new facility that will be home of the year-round Point Park Marketplace.
"Well it's great, there a lot of activity going on especially today, we had a couple of bus tours come to the area, so a lot of foot traffic is genering more interest and we started the Winter Market to try to kind of keep that unique shopping experience downtown through the winter time as the Farmers Market closes up," says Parkersburg City Planner, Rickie Yeager.
The new facility for the Point Park Marketplace is scheduled to open sometime during the spring.
The Winter Market runs from October through March.
