The Children's Home Society of West Virginia put on a Christmas party of their own for students in the Transitional Living Program.

The program is for students ages 16 to 21 who are transitioning from homelessness to a better life.

Local volunteers were on hand serving food and giving out gifts to students and their families.

"The fact that Community Resources is providing these gifts, the fact that volunteers from our community are preparing a meal means a lot to the young people involved in the program because those are thing that aren't provided from regular support to the program," says Judy Sjostedt.

The presents were provided by the Community Resources of Parkersburg.
