CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - A Kanawha County principal says he didn't threaten a student who publicly criticized an abstinence speech at the school.
George Washington High School principal George Aulenbacher told a judge that senior Katelyn Campbell misinterpreted his comment.
Media outlets report thath Aulenbacher testified Tuesday in Kanawha County Circuit Court during a hearing on Campbell's request for an injunction against him.
Campbell alleges that Aulenbacher threatened to tell Wellesley College that she is a troublemaker. The college has accepted her as a student.
Aulenbacher said his comment was a hypothetical scenario to make a point. He said she should have come to him first with her concerns about the speech.
Judge Duke Bloom asked both sides to look into whether state law has any age requirements regarding injunctions. Campbell is 17.
