Continuing working for a cure, hundreds starting their weekend with a walk to end Alzheimer's at City Park.

The Alzheimer's Association held the annual Walk to End Alzheimer's.

Nearly 50 teams and 600 walkers came out to help spread awareness of the disease.

The organization is raising money to provide services to family care givers and those suffering from Alzheimer's.

They raise more than $54,000 during the event.

"Well actually, it's great because out of these 600 people that are here, they can all look around and realize they are not alone, there's other families and care givers that are out here that are going through the same thing that they are," says Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Coordinator, Wendy Hamilton.

There was also a promise garden to remember loved ones who died from the disease.
