March basketball madness tipped off today with games basically going all day and night on our CBS sister station WIYE. That's cable channel 47. Many filled out their brackets and either watched from work or from their favorite spot.
We found several watching today from Buffalo Wild Wings. Everyone has their favorites. Some pick some early upsets, but everyone would agree they're fans of not just the teams but of college basketball. Even if the mountaineers didn't make the dance.
"I think Huggins is a good enough coach and now that they're established in the Big 12 for one year, I think he'll do a better job," says Larry McClead of Parkersburg. "I think he knows he has to do a better job recruiting to compete and I have no doubts that he's capable of doing that."
His son spent six or seven years in Morgantown and McClead says he misses the Mountaineers not being in tournament action at all this year.
"I wish the Bobcats had been able to get in on the large bid," says Brad Buchman of Vienna. The way things worked out the best team probably won but next year I still got the green fever; I'm gonna root for the Bobcats."
Buchman says we have about 10 teams that could win so he's not going to predict one particular team. He hopes it's an underdog this year.
