UPDATE 10/4/2013 4:55 PM

Call it a flash flood on Murdoch Avenue Friday.

Parkersburg Utility Board Inspector Buster Kale says the sudden burst of water was due to Dominion Gas digging down on their line to cut it off for demolition of a building.

They got into the utility board's line and service going into that building, pulling it out of the main line.

The first block of West Virginia Avenue was without water for a brief time, but the line was quickly fixed and water restored.
