UPDATE 05/05/2014 6:20 P.M.
A busy weekend for police but they say they're pleased with what they didn't find during a D.U.I. checkpoint.
There were no arrests made for impaired drivers. Only some for several misdemeanors including suspended and revoked licenses and possession.
With the added number of drivers due to prom and the races in Lubeck, police were very busy. They say overall drivers were polite and orderly, which police say made for a nice change.
The Parkersburg Detachment of the West Virginia State Police will conduct a Sobriety Checkpoint Saturday night along Route 95 and the intersection of Gihon Road and the State Farm Insurance parking lot.
That's 7 pm Saturday, May 3 through 1am Sunday, May 4.
It's in conjunction with the Commission on Drunk Driving Prevention to deter impaired drivers, as well as educate the public about the dangers of driving while impaired by alcohol and/or drugs.
The WVSP urges drivers to help their effort to stop driving under the influence incidents by reporting impaired drivers.
