Wood County Veterans Raise Money to Help Needy Families

Updated: 11/09/2014 - Wood County veterans showed their true colors this Sunday. The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1212 hosted "Toys for the Needy". It's become an annual tradition over the last few decades. The event included an auction and dinner. All of the money will go towards gifts for families who may not be able afford presents under the tree this holiday season. Most of the guests who came out brought toys as well. Thanks to this fundraiser, last year the Marines gave out toys to over 200 children.
