Garrison Challenges Johnson to Seven Debates

Candidate for Congress Jennifer Garrison challenges her opponent.

Garrison is asking Congressman Bill Johnson to seven debates in the seven media markets throughout the sixth district.

She says this will allow more voters the opportunity to see each of their views and approach to the job.

Through the debates, the community will then in turn be able to make an informed voting decision.

"So incredibly important, you know Congress is broken and he is a part of that. And we need to know how to fix it. And I don't think...I do think that the voters here deserve the opportunities to witness first hand both of us in every place so they can come and see themselves," says Garrison.

Garrison sent the letter to Bill Johnson's home Wednesday.

Johnson's campaign released the following statement:

"Bill Johnson continues to work in Ohio and in Washington to stop the harmful economic policies of Jennifer Garrison’s party and her supporters, Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi.

This work includes Bill’s constant constituent visits all throughout the 18 counties comprising the 6th Congressional District.

There will be plenty of time for political campaigning and candidate forums after Labor Day and Bill is committed to participate in candidate forums at that time.

Although Jennifer Garrison seems eager to start the campaign season early and bring scrutiny to her partisan record, once she makes her way around the entire district, she may regret that eagerness. That’s because her liberal policies and support of Obamacare and its advocates will be about as popular with people in Eastern and Southeastern Ohio as Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi are."
