Two big school levies for Warren Local and Belpre voters.

Warren - which had a string of defeats for new money - is asking for a ten year renewal of an existing levy.

For Warren Local it's a renewal levy on the ballot for the fifth time.

In total, it's one third of all their local income and the levy is $1.75 million.

Superintendent Kyle Newton says the cost to a person with a $100,000 home will be $175 a year, with all the levy money going directly to operations.

Belpre City Schools is renewing its levy for the third time.

It is an $825,000 levy also going all to operational costs.

Homeowners in Belpre would pay around $111 per year.

If your home is valued lower - for example a $50,000 home - it's around $5 a month.

For both levies the communities are already paying and the price is not rising.

They would be for 10 years.

There are also several candidates on the ballot.

Running for the sixth district Congress seat are two Democratic candidates.

They are Jennifer Garrison from Marietta and Gregory Howard, who was born in Chillicothe, Ohio, grew up in Cheshire, Ohio and runs a small farm in Meigs County.

The winner of this will go on to face Green Party candidate Dennis Lambert and incumbent Republican Congressman Bill Johnson this fall.

A couple of other races we are following through out the evening include Ohio Issue 1, which would allow Ohio to sell bonds to fund public infrastructure capital improvements such as roads, bridges and waste water treatment systems.

Also, in the Republican race for state representative for the 94th district, Yolan G. Dennis faces Daniel Lantz.

The winner faces Democratic incumbent Debbie Phillips in the general election.

We will be covering all of these races and several others out of Athens, Meigs and Morgan Counties throughout the evening.
