William "Rick" Freeland, 56, of St. Marys, WV, died, May 11, 2005, at the St. Joseph Hospital, Parkersburg, as the result of a traffic accident in St. Marys. He was born, April 10, 1949, at Middlebourne, WV, a son of Agnes Albright Freeland and the late Carl Freeland. He was a member of the Riverview Baptist Church, Belmont, WV, where he was a deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was a graduate of Tyler County High School, had worked for Corning Glass Company in Paden City for 20 plus years, and had work for Magnetic Specialties, Inc in Marietta, OH before opening his lawn service, A Cut Above.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one son, Adam Freeland and his wife, Emily, two grandchildren, Lauren and Blake Freeland all of Zanesville, OH, his fiancée, Rebecca Pryor of Belmont, WV, four sisters, Dorotha Haught and her husband, Denver of Romney, WV, Sharon Williams and her husband, Gary, Katherine Wise and her husband, Homer all of Follansbee, WV, and Jean McNeef and her husband, Burt of Wilmington, NC, one brother, Lynn Freeland and his wife, Sherry of Statesville, NC, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Anita Ingold Freeland on September 11, 2004.
Services will be held Saturday, May 14, 2005, at 11 A. M. at the Riverview Baptist Church, Belmont, WV with the Rev. James McGrill officiating. Burial will be in the Beechwood Cemetery, Alma, Tyler County, WV. Calling hours will be from 5 to 9 P. M. Friday at the Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV and from 10 to 11 A. M. Saturday at the church.
