Payne, Norbert H.

Norbert H. Payne, age 72, of Greenwood, WV, departed this life, Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at Parkersburg, WV. He was born October 16, 1939, in Landville, WV, the son of the late Nathan H. and Leler Marie Johnson Payne.

He had been a self-employed contractor and was a Unitarian by faith. He was a very good artist, enjoyed crafts and auto racing. He had been a member of the former Pennsboro I.O.O.F. and the Parkersburg Moose.

Norbert is survived by his wife of 53 years, Helen D. Grayam Payne; one brother, Nathan Jerry Payne, Clinton Township, MI; one sister, Shirley Kirk, Hartford, KY; and several special nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Norbert was preceded in death by brothers, Ernest, Ray, Hershell, Okey, Edwin and Luther Payne.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July, 1, 2012 from the McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, WV, with the Rev. Leonard Satterfield officiating, at 2:00 P.M. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, June 30, 2012, from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. and after 11:00 A.M. on the day of the service.
