She was born on April 25, 1924, a daughter of the late George "Kelly" and Grace Weekley Riggs.
Mabel had worked for the Wood County School Board for 15 years where she served as a crossing guard. She was a lifetime member of TOPS where she helped form the local chapter WV141 in 1973. Mable was a devoted member of the Gospel Tabernacle.
Mabel is survived by her children, Forrest Boone and Regena of Rockport, Wayne Lee Boone and Jenny of Rockport, Cleta Smart and Paul of Parkersburg, daughter in law Betty Boone of Mineral Wells, eight grandchildren Kelley, Brian, Rodney, Martha, Amy, Brandon, Alisha, Jeremy, and thirteen great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mabel was preceded in death by her husband of sixty four years, Cleedith Ross Boone., son Ronald Boone, brothers Edmund, Dempsey and sisters Maxine and Uldene, step brothers Donald, Coleman and step sisters Virginia, Elizabeth and Georgie.
The funeral service will be at 10 am Friday at the Gospel Tabernacle with Pastors Larry Thomas and Phillip Howerton officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 on Thursday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg and for one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
The family has requested that memorials be made in Mabel's memory to the Gospel Tabernacle 2620 14th Ave. Parkersburg, WV 26101.
Mabel's family would like to give special thanks to the ICU and 3rd floor nurses at the Camden Clark Medical Center St. Joseph's Campus and to Dr. Moses for their care to Mabel and the family.
