Mabel I. Collins, age 82, of Pennsboro, WV, passed away Friday, November 16, 2012, at Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, Ohio. She was born February 17, 1930, in Danville, VA. Mrs. Collins was the daughter of the late David A. and Opal M. Davis Cumpston.

Mrs. Collins was a 1949 graduate of Doddridge County High School and had attended banking classes at the former Parkersburg Community College. Her first employer in the Pennsboro area was the Pennsboro Glass Company. Following her employment at the glass company, Mrs. Collins was employed by local garment industries. Mrs. Collins retired as a Teller for the Community Bank of Pennsboro.

She had attended the Harmony United Methodist Church, near Summers, WV. Mrs. Collins was a member of the Sunshine CEOS Pullman, WV, had been a 4-H Leader and a den leader for the Cub Scouts. Mrs. Collins favorite role and past times revolved around that of homemaker. She most enjoyed decorating her home for the holidays, cooking, creating rubber stamp cards with her Card Club friends and was an avid bear collector. Her favorite times were those spent with her family and friends. She had also been a lifelong racing fan.

Mrs. Collins is survived by her children; Brock (Debby) Collins, St. Marys, WV; Tersea “Terry” (Gary) Hamilton, Shirley, WV; Deena (Roger) Richards, Lynn Camp Community, Pullman, WV; and Peter (Jill) Collins, Williamstown, WV; grandchildren, Abraham (Tara) Collins, Chance (Jacoba) Collins, Douglas (Andrea) Hayes II; Christopher (Martha) Hayes; Sarah (Gary) Brown; Isaac (Melanie) Richards; and Ethan Collins; and thirteen great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by husband, Jarvis “Pete” Collins, whom she married September 7, 1950, in Oakland, MD. She was also preceded by her siblings, Rosella Moore Hart, Charles “Buck” Cumpston, Mary Cumpston, Betty Holland; and one great grandchild.

Private Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
