Joe Louis Clayton, 73, of Smithville, died Nov. 19, 2012 at Hazelgreen, while hunting with loved ones.

He was born Sept 1, 1939 at Burnt House, WV, the son of the late Len Clayton and Emma Ellon Wright Clayton Elliott of Smithville.

Joe was a retired machinist with 30 years at Babcock and Wilcox in OH. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Nancy Marie Hufford Clayton; daughter, Brenda Gibson (Edward) of Wooster, OH; four grandchildren, Lorin Gibson, Ellon Gibson, Katie Jo Gibson, and Edward Noah Clayton Gibson; and step-father, Louie Elliott.

He was preceded in death by brother, Amos Clayton and Sister Carol Bailey.
