Ruth Self 84 of Elizabeth WV passed away Saturday November 24, 2012 at Ohio Valley Health Care of Parkersburg WV. She was born July 30, 1928 in Thacker WV the Daughter of the Late Ezra and Florence (Mann) Queen. She was a Baptist by faith and was Baptized early in life at the Dusk Camp Baptist Church in Gilmer County WV Ruthie was a Survivor In all aspects of her Life, from raising her children to her Courageous battle, that she Won with Ovarian and Colon Cancer, She lived her life as an inspiration to those who knew her, She never gave up, and always had a smile on her Face. She worked hard all her life as a Business owner in the Wirt County area, and Several of those Business that she started are still in operation today. She is survived by her 7 children: William (Pat) Self of Glenville WV, Patricia (Jim) Deem of Mineral Wells, Phyllis Bowe of Akron Ohio, Frank (Sharon)Self of Elizabeth WV, Mary (Don) PFalzcraft of Elizabeth WV Dave (Ann) Self of Arnoldsburg WV and Connie (Jerry) Patterson of Elizabeth WV 20 Grandchildren, 32 Great Grandchildren and Numerous Nieces and Nephews She was preceded in death by Both her parents, Husband William O. Self. 3 bothers, 4 sisters, 3 grandchildren Cindy Self, Harry Jr. and Chris. And Good Friends Deloris Patterson and Mick Watson. Services will be Tuesday November 27, 2012 at 11:00am at Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth WV with the Rev Delmas Stutler officiating. Visitation will be Monday November 26, 2012 from 6-8 PM Interment will be at Friend Cemetery in Ivydale WV.
