Armour A. Wheaton Jr., 77, of Parkersburg, passed away Nov. 30, 2012 at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus. He was born July 14, 1935, in Lone Creek, Jackson Co., W.Va., a son of the late Armour and Dollie DeLong Wheaton. Armour was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving the Strategic Air Command. He retired from Shell Chemical Co, in 1996. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and walking with his friends. He is survived by his wife, Carol McFarland Wheaton, who he married Jan. 13, 1962; a son, Gary Wheaton and wife, Sheila; a daughter, Karen Foster and husband, Jim; a brother Lewis Wheaton and wife, Carol; a sister, Wanda Matics and husband, Robert; and three grandchildren, Mason Wheaton, Kaitlin Wheaton and Gregory Sams Jr. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home Family Center, Pike St., south Parkersburg with light refreshments served on Sat., Dec. 8, from 2-6 p.m. According to his wishes, Armour will be cremated.
