James Howard “Butch” Wilson, 75, of Harrisville, passed away December 21, 2012 at Saint Francis Hospital in Charleston. He was born on Rock Camp, near Harrisville, December 16, 1937, a son of the late James A. and Effie (Elder) Wilson. Butch retired from Cytek Industries, formerly Cyanamid with 35 years service. He was a 1955 graduate of Harrisville High where he played football. He was a U. S. Navy veteran and served on the U. S. S. Skagit from 1957 to 1961. Butch was an avid outdoorsman and sportsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was involved in many youth sports. He coached Tee-Ball, Little League and Pee Wee Football. Surviving is his wife of 49 years, Wilma (Mahaney) Wilson, son James Douglas Wilson of Harrisville, brother David Wilson (Judy) of Harrisville, four sisters: Jean Moore of Harrisville, Jane Wilson (Robert) of Parkersburg, Mary Props of Harrisville and Helen Haddox of Harrisville and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Freda Lytle and Betty Wilson and brothers William H.”Buster” Wilson and Lincoln Richard Wilson. Funeral services will be Monday 11AM at the Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville with Pastors Curtis Christian and Ron Blevins officiating. Interment will follow at the Mount Pisgah Church Cemetery, Pullman. Visitation will be Sunday 4-8PM. In leiu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any youth athletic team or organization of the donor’s choice in Butch’s name.
