Shirley Ann (Burnside) Cookson, 76 of Belpre died January 25, 2013 at The Arbors in Marietta. She was born December 23, 1936 in Harrison County, WV and was the daughter of the late Wallace G. and Hazel Velma Richards Burnside. She had worked for the G. C. Murphy's Store, the Wilmar Resturant and the Blennerhassett Resturant. She loved her cats. Survivors include her sister, Janet (Neil) Flowers of Belpre, her three brothers, Kenneth (Judy) of Belpre, William "Bill" Burnside of Pennsacola, FL, Robert "Gary" (Sharon) Burnside of Elizabeth, WV and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Cookson, her parents, three brothers, Wallace Jr., Guy, Richard "Larry" Burnside, two sisters, Bernice Stephens, and Norma Ross. Services will be on Monday at 11:00 AM at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre with Reverend Keith Belt officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen South Cemetery, Parkersburg.
