She graduated from Pennsboro High School. On January 30, 1937, she married Orlton Kensel Cain and they raised four children in various neighborhoods in Parkersburg, W.Va. before moving, in 1956, to a house in Vienna, W.Va. that they built together.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken, in 1991; a son, Dr. Randy Cain in 2006; and all her siblings, Beulah Riddle, Goldie Bruffey, Marguerite Thrash, and Raymer, Theo, Chester and Wilbur McFarland.
She is survived by one son, Terry Cain, of Vienna; two daughters, Liane Showalter of Vienna, and Judy Luck and her husband, Greg, of Colbert, Wash.; six grandchildren, Mark Sutton of Vienna, Deborah Cain of Parkersburg, Carisse Cain, Joslyn Cain and Jennah Luck-Flinders (Jeremy), all of Spokane, Wash. and Bethany Luck-Hutson (Chad) of Pittsburgh; and eight great-grandchildren, Ayden, Nadyia, Tyce, Caliana, Aven, Delaney, Mackenzie, and another great-grandson due in April.
She was a charter member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
The family will have a private service, but in honoring Mrs. Cain’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Vaughan Funeral Home, 1010 Murdoch Avenue, Parkersburg, W.Va.
