Mr. Starcher was born October 26, 1938 at Eureka, Ohio, a son of the late Glen C. Starcher and Gladys Burke Starcher Cooper.
He was retired from the former Allegheny Power Co. and was a US Navy veteran. He was a very avid reader and a member of the U.S.S. Fiske Association.
He is survived by his daughter, Jayme Allyn Starcher Fife and husband, Andy, of Williamstown, W.Va.; two brothers, Richard Starcher of South Carolina and E. Lee Starcher of Lubeck, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Jared Ryan Starcher Fife and Aiden Michelle Fife; and lifelong friends, Janie and Jim Deem.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death, on July 31, 2009, by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Tallman Starcher.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at the Vaughan Funeral Home, 1010 Murdoch Avenue, Parkersburg, W.Va. with Bishop James Robrecht officiating. Concluding services and interment will be in Sunset Memory Gardens with military graveside services by American Legion Post 15, Parkersburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday.
