Lane, Charlene Rae

Charlene Rae “Bugs” Lane, 74, of Marietta, died Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at her home. She was born March 22, 1938 in Williamstown, WV to Ralph and Dorothy Burton McKenzie. She was a 1956 graduate of Williamstown High School. Bugs enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and always brightened up everyone’s day.

She is survived by her husband, William W. Lane, whom she married on November 19, 1960, two sons, Tom (Cathey) of Lakeland, FL and Dan (Elena) of Valrico, FL, four grandchildren, Robert, Ashley, Michael, and Christina Lane, son-in-law, Kevin Hershner (Melissa) and their daughters, Haylee and Hannah. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Hershner, six brothers, Gilbert, Richard, Thomas, Fred, Raymond and Dale McKenzie and two sisters, Caroline Gano and Dorothy Jean Ritchie.

Friends may call at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. Her family will have a private graveside service for her on Monday at Riverview Cemetery in Williamstown.
