Sammy Paul Bunner, 66 of Pennsboro, passed away March 2, 2013 at The Arbors at Marietta. He was born December 12, 1946 in Ritchie County, a son of the late Paul and Gevevieve (Lamm) Bunner. Sam retired from the Department of Highways as the Assistant Supervisor for Ritchie County. He attended the Bonds Creek Free Will Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Sam was also a veteran of the U. S. Army. Surviving is his wife Beatrice (Lewis) Bunner, stepson James Ronald Lynch of Pennsboro, brother Michael Bunner of Navarre, OH, sister-in-law Leona Bunner of Navarre, OH sister Carmen Sowd (Ken) of Newcomerstown, OH, step grandchildren Jesse and Scott Sigley and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by a brother Larry Bunner. Funeral services will be Wednesday 11AM at the McCullough Funeral Home, Pennsboro with Pastor Jim Pyles officiating. Interment will follow at the Ellenboro Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 6-8PM. Sam’s family would like to express their deepest thanks to all who offered prayers, cards, food and visits during his final days and would like to thank Dr. Heavener and Dr. Bage for their care and comfort and tending to Sam’s needs in his time of sickness.
