Guy William Lowther, Jr., 71, of Parkersburg, W.Va. died Friday, March 22, 2013 at the Willows Center, Parkersburg.
He was born July 29, 1941 at Schultz, Pleasants Co., W.Va., son of the late Guy W. “Tom” and Mary L. Nichols Lowther.
Guy was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Rittman, Ohio. He retired from the Dept. of Labor as an OSHA inspector and was formerly employed at several area industries. He was a Baptist minister and was the owner of 95 Auto Sales.
He is survived by three daughters, Cassandra Leonard of Reno, Nev., Christine Morlock (John) of Rio Rancho, N. Mex. and Cathy Mellor (Sean) of Clayton, N. Car.; one sister, Sharon Edgell Pauley of Russellville, Ark; and six grandchildren, Alexander, Timothy, Shannon, Gracie, Gabriel and Benjamin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the Willow Island Baptist Church with Pastors Mark Dowler and Jerry Caplinger officiating. Interment will follow in the Willow Island Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Vaughan Funeral Home, 1010 Murdoch Avenue, Parkersburg from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday and at the church one hour prior to services Wednesday.
