She was born in Creston, WV on February 14, 1923, a daughter of the
late Martin H. and Osa Belle Collins Richards.
Dorothy was a member of the 19th Street Church of God.
Surviving Dorothy are her daughter Maejean Cox and Jimmie of Mineral
Wells, sons Gale F. Doss, Jr. and Joyce Ann of Vienna, Howard C.
Dailey II of Rural Hall, NC, step son Chuck Dailey and Barbara of
Vienna, step daughters Joann Casto of Parkersburg, Alice Carrel and
J.J. of Texas, two sisters Bernie Ball of Parkersburg, Barbara
Dailey of Vienna, seven grandchildren Robin Klinger and Mike, Gale
Doss III and Karen, Scott Doss and Shelley, Jimmie Cox, Jr. and Dana,
Jeremy Cox and Desiree, Jason Cox and Stephani, and Clinton Dailey,
twelve great grandchildren, eleven step grandchildren and several step
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her first
husband Gale Doss, Sr., second husband Howard C. Dailey, granddaughter
Amy Cox, step son Jerry Dailey, one step grandchild, brothers Hughie
Richards, Lemuel Richards, William Richards, and sisters Beulah Posey
and Lucille Hungate
The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday at the 19th Street
Church of God with Bishop Jimmie Lee Cox, Jr. and Bishop Randall Fuson
officiating. Burial will be at the Rockland Cemetery. Visitation
will be from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm on Tuesday at Leavitt Funeral Home and
for one hour prior to the service at the church.
