He was born March 7, 1928 in Huntington, W.Va., a son of the late Mark and Roma Nida Stowasser and resided in Milton WV. prior to moving to Williamstown, WV.
Delmer worked at Fenton Art Glass as a Glassmaker. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Korean Conflict and awarded the Bronze Star. His hobbies included painting landscapes and woodworking.
He is survived by two daughters, Toni Mullenix (Michael) of Parkersburg and Trina Gay Reed (John) of Monument, Colorado. Five grandchildren, Jorun Picciano (Nick), Jamie McBride (Kraig), Matt Hively (Dianna), Zach Reed (Tia) and Matt Reed (Christina). Seven great-grandchildren, Jacob Hively, Micky Hively, Jacynda Hively, Lucia Picciano, Megan Hively, Colton McBride, Twila Reed, and Josh Picciano.
Delmer was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, his wife Dorie, and only son Gene.
Services will be held at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va., on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Bob Alfred officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Williamstown. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
