She was born in Ritchie County, WV on November 10, 1917, a daughter of the late R. Lee and Jesse Hardman Barker.
Gladys graduated from Salem College and was a school teacher for over thirty years, having taught in Meige County and then in Cairo for ten years. She had operateed a craft shop in Harrisville for several years and was a member of the Rebecca Lodge of Harrisville. She moved to Belpre in 2007.
Surviving Gladys are her daughter Susan Nelson and husband Lynn of Belpre, three grandchildren Richard Nelson, Amy Neal and Rachel Cox.
In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her first husband Eugene Rexroad, second husband Marvin Cox, daughter Virginia Siers and son Bobby Cox.
Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre is assisting the family with private cremation services.
