Dorothy Ann Burns Freeman, age 70, went home to be with the lord, on June 12, 2013, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA, after battling heart failure for eight years. She was a 30 year resident of West Union, WV. She was born February 6, 1943, in Nashville, TN, the daughter of the late Charles Robert Burns, who was a explosive specialist for dams and mines and Freda Ann Gupton Burns, Golconda, IL.

After graduating from Martins Ferry High School in 1961, she excelled at all her jobs, nanny, nursing home aide, cook, supervisor at Bobbie Brooks Clothing Store, Head Start teacher where she was promoted to supervisor, worked hard for United Summit Center and was promoted to program manager/ supervisor. Her greatest joys in life were taking care of her family, serving in the Crimson River Baptist Church as treasure, volunteering as a Emergency Medical Technician and training director for Doddridge County, Sunday School teacher and helping others in need. She loved her family, friends and co-workers.

Ann Freeman was the oldest child of six children; she is survived by two brothers, David Burns (Bridgette) and John Burns (Lesia); two sisters, Wanda Schnake (Tom), and Joni Therber (Michael); Husband, Walter Ray Freeman whom she married on March 31, 1964; two daughters, Dee Ann Freeman Parsons (Jeff Henderson), Grafton, WV and Dru Carol Fittro (Joseph), Lost Creek, WV; four grandchildren, Jessica Ann Parsons, Joshua Ray Freeman, Jordan Dean Freeman and Bethany Dawn Fittro; four nieces Lacey Burns and daughter Maggie, Jamie Burns, Nedra Therber (T A Schaefer), and Cassandra Burns; five nephews, James Jones (Michelle), Brian Burns (Ramona), Jeremy Schnake (Crystal) and son Mason, Jesse Burns (Amber) and Heath Therber ( Rebekah), and son-in-law, Ronald Lattea.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Dawn Lee Lattea in 2009, infant son, Devin Freeman in 1976, infant sister, Kathy Burns.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, June 15,2013, at the Crimson River Baptist Church, West Union, WV at 1:00 PM, with the Pastor Denver Burnside officiating, McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, WV is assisting the family with the arrangements.
