She was a 1965 graduate of South Charleston High School and a 1969 graduate of West Virginia University with a Bachelor's in Physical Education. At WVU she met her future husband, Ed. Carol was a life-long member of the Presbyterian Church, first attending Rock Lake Presbyterian in South Charleston. She has been a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Parkersburg since moving to Parkersburg after college.
Carol was so proud of her children, grandchildren and new great-grandson. She loved family get-togethers at any time but especially on holidays. She loved the beach, watching WVU sports and reading a good book. She enjoyed her volunteer work for the Red Cross and past involvement with Relay for Life. She enjoyed tending her flowers and plants, her Wednesday senior's bowling league, her weekly Tai Chi class, and going to the Fitness Center. She was very involved in the Lubeck School PTA and her daughter's Girl Scout troops. She made friends whatever she did.
A special thanks to Dr. Cawley, Dr. Bhati, the entire Strecker Cancer team at Marietta Memorial Hospital and to Housecalls Hospice of Parkersburg for providing the best care possible. A special thanks also to her family and friends who shared their caring and loving support.
