Dencil E. Brown, Sr., 60, of Williamstown, departed this earth Sept. 2, 2013. His life came to a sudden end when a deer crossed his path while riding his motorcycle. He was the love of his wife, Deborah, who would've celebrated 40 years of marriage this November.
Dencil was born June 16, 1953 to William and Della Brown. He grew up in Cannelton, WV and graduated from Montgomery High School in 1973. His family moved to Williamstown, WV and he began work for Union Carbide (now Eramet) July 1973 and retired March 2009 with 35 years of service. He was a union brother of USW Local 639 where he served as President for 2 terms. Everywhere he went he was always lending a hand to help anyone in need. Dencil was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time with his grandsons.
He is survived by his wife, Debby, his daughter, Ginny (Chris) of Murphytown, WV, his son Gene of Hurricane, WV, grandsons Dustin and Connor of Murphytown, WV, David and Josh of Hurricane and granddaughter Sarah of Hurricane, 3 sisters, 3 brothers, 6 sisters-in-laws, 6 brothers-in-laws, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, 5 brothers, father-in-law and mother-in-law.
The funeral service will be at 3:00 pm Friday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Bob Alfred and Rev. L. Norman Butler officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 on Thursday and for one hour prior to the service on Friday.
